How It Works
Book the Test
Call or submit the form. Tell us the project address, number of systems, whether the AHU is installed, and when the ductwork is ready. We confirm your scheduling quickly.
We Run the Test
Technician arrives with a calibrated duct blaster and digital manometer. We seal all registers, pressurize the duct system to 25 Pa (0.1″ w.g.), and measure total leakage in CFM.
You Get the Report
Pass or fail, you get a signed test report with all readings, applicable code references (ECCCNYS R403.3.7), and a clear pass/fail determination. Hand it to the building department.
Why Testing Is Required
The NYS Energy Conservation Construction Code (ECCCNYS), effective December 31, 2025, requires duct leakage testing for all residential duct installations under Section R403.3.7. Maximum allowable leakage: ≤ 4 CFM/100 sf (rough-in with AHU) or ≤ 3 CFM/100 sf (rough-in without AHU). Testing methodology per ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380. This applies to new construction and retrofits — any duct installation as part of an alteration must comply per R503.1.2.
